The Making of Me describes Dion Gray’s journey from birth to adulthood through poetry and prose. It gives you a look at some of her experiences with death, loss, abuse, love, and then the transformation that can come overtime, through patience and hard work. While life has not always been kind, Dion is able to see the beauty in a world that seemed to have turned its back on her, at various stages in her life. Her journey is one that questions the loyalty of family and friends, while offering forgiveness that she could only gain through growth. In transforming anger to acceptance, she is able to overcome past hurt, opening herself up to the possibilities of love, life, and new beginnings.
